Coaching Field Hockey - Defending Principles Workshop
USA Field Hockey is pleased to announce the “Coaching Defending Principles Workshop”, a new Coach Education offering. This three-hour workshop will be held at the Indoor Training Center, Ann Arbor, Michigan on Saturday, November 20 from 9:00-12:00 pm.
The Coach Educator for this workshop will be USA Field Hockey trained Coach Educator and former Assistant coach at Syracuse University, Allan Law. The Defending Principles Workshop provides coaches with the essential principles and supporting sub-principles to help build more effective defensive teams. The workshop will look at the individual technical defensive skills required and how those skills can be utilized to develop tactical decision making relating to areas such as pressing and managing counter attacks. This three hour workshop is designed to provide practical and usable technical and tactical tips to help coaches support their teams.
It’s also a great way to network and collaborate with fellow coaches. Coaches of all levels are welcome and will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Price will be $65 for members and $85 for non-members
Participants in the “Defending Principles Workshop” will receive a certificate of participation that stays current as long as your Coach Membership remains active. This is the first of USA Field Hockey’s new “Workshop Series,” which will become part of the Coach Education Pathway. USA Field Hockey is committed to providing coaches with ongoing quality Coach Education that is accessible, affordable and that includes best practices to deliver a player-centered and positive development experience.
