Event Details
You are cordially invited to register to umpire at the 2022 Sunshine Showcase at ESPN Wide World of Sports at Walt Disney World® Resort in Orlando, Fla. from January 28 to 30, 2022. Umpire meeting will be done virtually in the week leading up to the event Umpires will be housed in rooms for up to FOUR nights (1/27 arrival - 1/31 departure) at a designated hotel. Umpires will not be reimbursed if they stay outside of the USA Field Hockey selected hotel for this event. If a single room is requested the umpire must cover half the cost of the room. Umpires will receive a meal ticket for lunch at the venue or meal money. Dinner will be on your own. USA Field Hockey will provide a $50 stipend to all umpires to help cover the transportation from Orlando Airport to the assigned hotels. Uber is estimated at $25. Since the hotels for umpires are not on Disney property, USA Field Hockey will also provide shuttle service from the designated umpire hotels to the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex each day. Umpires will receive $50 per game and can expect to umpire three (3) games the first two days and two (2) games on the final day of the tournament. Games will be completed by 6:00 p.m. ET on the last day, so this will give enough time to secure flights out on January 30. Based on the number of teams, we are looking at about 90 umpires for the event. This years event is full field 11v11 matches and 7v7 matches. A Level 1 rating would be the minimum requirement to participate. The cutoff date for registration is midnight Saturday, January 1, 2022. We will be monitoring registration and will close it out early if we reach our goal of umpires. UMPIRES MUST HAVE CURRENT MEMBERSHIP BEYOND JANUARY 30, 2022 TO REGISTER. |
