FREE Umpire Town Hall - "Umpiring in the USA and Beyond" - Saturday, November 19 - 4:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. ET - University of Connecticut, Storrs, Conn.

All field hockey enthusiasts are invited to join USA Field Hockey's newly appointed Head of Umpiring Sean Rapaport and NCAA Field Hockey National Coordinator of Officials Tim Vaughan for a free “Umpire Town Hall” focusing on Umpiring in the USA and Beyond on Saturday, November 19. Taking place from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. ET at the University of Connecticut in conjunction with the 2022 NCAA Division I Field Hockey Championship, Rapaport and Vaughan will discuss an interactive look into and around the state of umpiring locally and abroad. They will address the responsibilities of umpires and some of the key pillars of umpiring, taking stock of rule changes and considering current areas of attention in the global game. They welcome new and experienced coaches, umpires and fans and look forward to an open discussion.

2022 NCAA Division I Field Hockey Championship Schedule:

Saturday, November 19

2:00 PM ET - Division I Senior Game
Members of the 2022 Victory Sports Tours/NFHCA Division I Senior Teams will compete in conjunction with the NCAA Division I Field Hockey Championships in Storrs, Conn. Feel free to come to the game and observe with Sean as he watches from an umpire's perspective. 

*4:00 PM ET - "Umpiring in the USA and Beyond": Umpire Town Hall
*Once an individual registers, the exact classroom location on the campus of the University of Connecticut will be shared.

Come meet USA Field Hockey Head of Umpiring Sean Rapaport and NCAA Field Hockey National Coordinator of Officials Tim Vaughan.

Sean Rapaport brings more than 20 years of umpiring experience and knowledge with him, including having represented South Africa internationally at the highest levels of the game while remaining actively involved in the sport locally as an umpire, umpire manager, coach and disciplinary chairman. He currently sits on the FIH World Cup and Pro League Panels for outdoor umpires and has officiated more than 70 senior international matches.

Tim Vaughan was named the NCAA Field Hockey National Coordinator of Officials in September 2021. He brings with him over 32 years of playing and umpiring experience to the position. He works with the Division I, II and III Field Hockey Committees in the identification, training, selection and evaluation of umpires for each championship, while overseeing the officials’ improvement program focusing on the regular-season evaluation of umpires, along with training and education.
