Tournament Details


Clubs from across the country will compete in 2023 Regional Club Championships (RCC), presented by YOLO Sportswear, for a chance to be one of the top sixteen U-14 Girls, U-16 Girls and U-19 Girls teams to earn a ticket to the 2023 National Club Championship (NCC), presented by YOLO Sportswear. One club team in each division will claim the highly coveted title of National Club Champions. The National Club Championship is an ideal opportunity for clubs to compete against each other in a highly competitive atmosphere and coincides with USA Field Hockey’s mission of growing playing opportunities and the game of field hockey in the United States.

Registration:

This year’s registration will include an early invitation window for those teams that placed 1st through 4th in their division in the 2022 RCC events. Registration will open to all on Wednesday, March 8 at 12:00 p.m. ET, and will continue until divisions are full. All U-14 Girls, U-16 Girls, U-19 Girls registrants must pay in full to reserve their team spots in the 2023 Regional Club Championship. Each registration includes a $300 non-transferable, non-refundable deposit. Cancellations after Friday, March 31, 2023 deadline are non-refundable.

Some regions may be limited on registration, on a history basis, and an unpaid waitlist will be offered and when available more teams will be added.

Pricing:

Pricing per division is subject to the region - Base fee starts at $1,300, but dependent of location/rental etc pricing may vary per region. 

Refunds will not be granted after March 31, 2023 except for the COVID-19 policy below.
 

COVID-19 Policy - Should USA Field Hockey cancel the event due to federal, state or local mandates related to COVID-19, all teams will be refunded the full tournament fee MINUS a $100 processing/administrative fee. Refunds will be processed 7-10 business days from the announcement of cancellation. If COVID-19 travel restrictions/mandates forbid a clubs movement out of state/country, refunds will be given on a case by case basis. Any withdraws or cancellations on the clubs behalf, even if due to COVID-19 concerns, will be subject to USA Field Hockey’s Refund Policy. If requested within open registration deadline then a refund would be granted minus admin fee. If final payment deadline has past no refunds will be granted. All requests to cancel or withdraw must be made in writing to Madeline Hoeppner, USA Field Hockey's Events Director, at mhoeppner@usafieldhockey.com.

 

Rosters:

Rosters will be due 2 weeks before the first day of the event. Be sure to check the roster deadline for your specific event.

The following additional conditions apply to the Regional and National Club Championship rosters:

  1. Only one club team per age group in each Regional Club Championship event is permitted. The team must play in their designated Region, which is where the majority of their current affiliated members reside.
  2. The same team roster for the Regional Club Championship must be used at the National Club Championship. No Exceptions.
  3. All athletes that participate at the Regional Club Championship / National Club Championship must be affiliated with that club.
  4. An individual player cannot play for more than one team during the Regional Club Championships unless they are playing in a different age group.** The teams must be from the same club.
    • If an athlete plays on more than one club team all games that the illegal player has participated in will be forfeited
    • **Regional rules may apply
  5. Teams are limited to a maximum 24 players and minimum of 11 gender-specific athletes.
    • Upon check-in for an event, if a team marks an athlete as not at competition but does not remove that athlete from the roster, that player may participate if they arrive later during competition. If a team removes an athlete from the roster at check-in that athlete may not participate
  6. Athletes that have had college/university training will not be eligible to participate in the RCC/NCC tournament.  If a college athlete does participate, any games that the illegal player has participated in will be forfeited

Schedule and Pools:

USA Field Hockey will be setting all schedule structures and pools to give a more consistent experience at all Regional Club Championships. Game times are up to the discretion of the host based on field availability.

Competition for all RCC events will begin at 8:00 a.m. local time unless otherwise determined between the host and USA Field Hockey.  

A final schedule will be created no later than 2.5 weeks before your RCC. We then ask that hosts take over primary communication to participants and send out the schedule and any other pertinent information for your venue (ie - parking, food policies, maps, etc.) no later than 2 weeks before the start of the tournament.
