USA Field Hockey

Congratulations on being identified to participate in the 2024 AAU Junior Olympic Games! Please read all of the information below.

USA Field Hockey is proud to partner with AAU Junior Olympic Games for the field hockey competition. In 2024, USA Field Hockey will invite top U-16 female and male athletes from across the country to participate. Boys are identified based on coach recommendations and/or competing in the Cal Cup tournament, May 24-27, 2024. Boys will compete in the Hockey 5s format. 

AAU Junior Olympic Games: Monday, July 29th – Thursday, August 1st 

• July 29: Athlete Check-In at Wake Forest Field Hockey Field (Ketner Stadium) – 211 Manchester Athletic Center, Winston-Salem, NC 27109 
  • First practice will start at 10am on Monday, July 29th 
• July 29: Team Practices; Competition Begins
• July 30- August 1 Competition
  • The final game will start at 2:15pm on Thursday, August 1st. Awards will start at 2:45pm. 
• Please accommodate for changes in the schedule for inclement weather in your travel plans.  All information will be relayed on site and via email.

Registration Details: All participants must complete the following steps to secure their spot on the AAU Junior Olympic teams. 

1. Players must be Current USA Field Hockey Members to register. Click this link
2. USA Field Hockey Event Registration= $295 Click this link and follow the prompts to register for the AAU Junior Olympic games. Once you are registered for the event on USA Field Hockey's platform you will receive more information about the Junior Olympic Games in addition to the information below. 
3. AAU Athlete Membership= $20 Become a member of AAU by visiting their website here and follow the prompts. All participants must be both USA Field Hockey and AAU members.
4. Complete your AAU Junior Olympics registration by visiting the AAU Junior Olympic website here, clicking "Field Hockey" and completing the final prompts. You will need your AAU Membership number to complete this step.

The deadline for registrations is July 1, 2024. Any individual not registered at this time will risk forfeiting their spot. Athletes will receive more detailed information in regard to teams, coaches, and schedule closer to the event date. 

Housing Reservations: 

In order to complete your registration to participate in the 2024 AAU Junior Olympic Games, you are required to use hotel accommodations as advertised at http://www.aaujrogames.org/Hotels. It is recommended that you choose a hotel in the Winston-Salem area. If your athlete is local or not planning to stay at one of the recommended properties, you can submit a Housing Exemption Form available online at http://www.aaujrogames.org/Hotels. 

Athlete Check-In: Check in will occur on site at Kenter Stadium, before practices on July 29th.
