LEVEL 2 Program 

Level 2 Online Course - Pt. 1 + Level 2 In-Person Instructional Clinic - Pt. 2  =  FULL Level 2 Certification

USA Field Hockey’s Level 2 Instructional Clinic is a 8-hour offering that will be held on Tuesday, January 9 from 8:30-4:30 pm at The Boombah Sports Complex. The Coach Educators will be TBD.

You must complete the Level 2 Online Course prior to the In-person Level 2. The price of this course includes the Level 2 Online Course. You must complete the Level 2 Online Course and attend the In-person to earn a full Level 2 Certification. Once you register, you will be sent information on how to access the Level 2 Online Course. Make sure you know your USA Field Hockey Membership Username and Password.

This course will expand on several of the topics covered in the Level 1 clinic and will challenge participants to further define and evaluate their individual coaching philosophies, styles, techniques and encourage self-assessment.  Additionally, coaches will work in groups to share best practices and receive peer feedback in a comfortable and encouraging environment. 

The Level 2 Instructional Coaching Clinic will cover the following topics:  

Level 2 Online Coaching Course - The Level 2 program requires you to take the online course prior to attending the in-person Level 2. Go to this link to register for the online course, fill out the survey at the very end of Part 3 and you will receive the Level 2 Online Certificate through your membership area. • Developing Your Coaching Philosophy  
• Gain an Understanding of How to Develop Team Culture 
• Develop Your Ability to Design, Deliver and Review Effective Practice Games 
• Gain a Basic Understanding of How to Develop Skillful Players 
• Design and Deliver a Team Meeting 
• Explore "The USA Way" Principles of Play in More Detail Including Set Pieces and Playing Philosophy    

Level 2 Instructional - Part 2 In-Person - Practical Learning and Application  

• Participate in Group Presentations Covering Important Coaching Topics    
• Apply “Games-based” Principles that include Exercise Progressions   
• The Skills of the Game - Error Detection and Correction
• Design Fun and Effective Training Sessions - Small Games

Non-USA Field Hockey Member Price: $325 (includes one-day membership)

Participants will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis and space is limited.

USA Field Hockey Level 2 Instructional Coaching Clinic attendees will receive a Level 2 Certificate of Participation and, with USA Field Hockey Membership, will be eligible to coach in USA Field Hockey programs including becoming Nexus and AAU Junior Olympic Games (application process). Participants will also be able to advance further as we continue to expand offerings within USA Field Hockey’s Coach Education Program.
